  • Hi,
Actually, if Russian is a problem, you can write in English. Many of our players speak English. We will be glad to assist you. There are many good players in Russia. Many of them are business executives and they are not members of PSA. So, if they do not have a rating, they are still quite good players. There are many expats participating in our tournaments. But we do have professionals as well. Most of them are training at Multisport, Luzhniki stadium facility. Couching is a different story. Yes, good coaches are always in demand. Price tag varies from case to case and depends on your agreement with a particular player. If you are a professional coach, it is very likely that you can make in Russia more than that in Europe or New Zealand. As for the tournaments, you may find the info on our web-site. If you did register, you would get a regular update on the upcoming tournaments by e-mail. Please, do not hesitate to contact us and welcome to our squash society!

Thanks for the quick reply, english suits me better thanks,

As we only plan to be in moscow for a short time not too much can be arranged , but if you or any of the other top players are around it would be great to get a couple of games in. As for the coaching it was more just a thought to possibly make some extra money while on the trip but it would be good to figure something out for the future as i plan to be back. Also would be great if there is a tournament on when im around, i will keep checking the tournament calendar.

  • Ok. When you want to play, give me a call +7(919) 411-1111 (Alexey Severinov). I will not be in Moscow for the next 7-9 days because I am heading to Odessa to participate in a PSA tournament (by the way, information about the tournament is posted on our web-site). When we get together we can talk about other things you've raised in your post.

Hi again Alexey, i hope ull get this post as i didnt know how to send you a message.

Hopefully i will be over in april, for around 4 weeks, but i see there is 2 closed satellites in moscow. I know im not a russian citizen but the PSA rules state i only have to be a member of the national squash body\association to play, just thought i would ask if there is any way i could join a club which joins me to the association and play or if its unable to be done.. It would be great if i could play but i understand if it cant be done..

      Thanks
      Chris

    • Hi Chris,
I am sorry I could not answer your comments right away. I am not in Russia right now and have limited access to the Internet. As for the PSA rules, you have not to be a member of the national squash association to participate in closed satellites. You have to be a member of the local club. But there are few limitations related to closed satellites: (1) you can claim points for the tournaments you participated in, which were held in one country only (once you claim points from a closed satellite, let's say in NZ, you still can play in closed satellites in Russia, but cannot claim the points from it); (2) in order to be eligible for the points from participating in closed satellites in Russia you have to be a permanent resident of the country (the status granted after at least 3-month stay). So, you can participate in as many closed satellites in Russia as you want. But, to claim points from the closed satellite in April, you have to: (1) come to Russia and stay here for at least 3 months before the tournament; (2) refrain from participating in closed satellites in 2010 in other countries. After receiving points from closed satellites in Russia, you will not be allowed to claim points from closed satellites held in other countries. Besides our closed satellites, you may apply for open satellites in Moscow and St. Petersburg and improve you world ranking. There are no limitations for open satellites. Hope my comment answers your concerns.
